Membership

In 2017 we are changing our offering to reflect our audience. We are introducing the Bell Shakespeare Membership 2016 to provide rewards and value to all of our audience, both frequent flyers and long lost visitors. This membership is about giving you value, whether you are looking for discounts, access to behind the scenes experiences, or just want to be part of the Bell Shakespeare family.

We also know that you are busy and while you want to be part of what we do, you often can’t commit to a full season package, or may not be able to see more than one performance in a year. The bonus of the membership is that it’s like getting all the benefits of a subscription (such as discounted tickets, priority seating and exclusive offers) without the commitment of a season package!

A membership costs $60 for a 12 month period, and entitles you to a 20% discount on up to 4 tickets per production (full price and concession only) during that 12 months. That’s a savings of up to $72 per production! And you can go to all, or just one of our productions per year.

Member tickets Full priced tickets
Premium Full $74 $92
Concession $62 $76
A Reserve Full $60 $75
Concession $51 $64

As  a member you will also gain access to behind the scenes opportunities, exclusive members-only events, discounted tickets and invitations to take part in lectures, production briefings, practical workshops and family events.

You are also supporting the future of Bell Shakespeare. We are a not for profit organisation, and we raise over 70% of our revenue from non-governmental sources – through initiatives like this.

We will be announcing new productions throughout the year, and a membership means that you can buy your tickets at any time. You don’t even need to choose your dates or pay for your tickets immediately – which also makes our membership the perfect gift!

Memberships are currently only available for Sydney, Melbourne, and Canberra.

We know this is a new idea and you probably have lots of questions. We’ve put together a Membership FAQ below to

Who can buy a membership?
Anybody! All our audience members are important to us, and we want everyone to have access to discounts and special offers.

This membership is about giving you value, whether you are looking for discounts, access to behind the scenes experiences, or just want to be part of the Bell Shakespeare family. Full or concession ticket buyers will receive the most value in discounts from the membership, however over the next few years we will introduce additional levels of membership to appeal to all audience members.

How many tickets can I buy with a membership?
You can buy up to 4 (four) tickets per production with the discount. We always present at least two productions in a year, which means you can purchase 4 (four) discounted tickets to each of the productions, giving you access to a minimum of 8 (eight) discounted tickets in a year

What are the benefits?
Benefits will be announced city by city throughout the year. These will include hospitality, entertainment and services.

How is this different to a season package?
A membership provides flexibility and rewards for both multiple production audience members and single production audience members. Everyone is important to us, so everyone should have access to discounts and benefits.

If I have a membership now, can I buy tickets for a production that occurs after my membership has expired?
Your membership only gives you discounts to productions that occur during your 12-month membership, however you can renew at any time to ensure you can always access the best seats in the house, at the best price available!

Yes there is – you could join our Syndicate!

Our Syndicate members are given incomparable access to our rehearsal room to witness the creative process and behind-the-scenes action that contributions to our production and education programmes across a full year. This will not only give you the chance to mix with the cast and creatives, but you will share these intimate experiences with a select group of like-minded peers. The programme includes a membership fee and donation, meaning that your participation will also play a pivotal role in bringing the productions and programmes to life. For further information on joining a Syndicate, please email us at giving@bellshakespeare.com.au or phone us at 8298 9000 and ask to speak with a member of the Development team.
