Acting Education Manager
Bell Shakespeare seeks an experienced arts administrator to join our dedicated Learning team in the role of Acting Education Manager, a 12 month maternity cover position.
The successful applicant will possess excellent experience working within the arts industry, sound knowledge of and experience with the education environment, a passion for Shakespeare and live performance, and strong skills in organisation and planning.
Reporting directly to the Head of Education, the Acting Education Manager is an integral part of the Bell Shakespeare Learning team, managing the Education Coordinator and working closely with the Resident Artist in Education.
Bell Shakespeare’s Learning programmes tour nationally to every state and territory and cater for primary and secondary students, Professional Learning for teachers and a host of initiatives for regional and remote schools. The Acting Education Manager manages a small, experienced and dedicated team of Arts Educators who deliver a range of programmes in Australian schools.
The Acting Education Manager is responsible for the logistical coordination of all Bell Shakespeare Learning programmes including; implementing sales strategies; working with Company Management to ensure the smooth delivery of programmes; scheduling of Bell Shakespeare Education programmes; liaising with regional venues and external stakeholders; content and monitoring for funding acquittals and reporting; managing the Filemaker-Tessitura database; accurate written and electronic record keeping; and representation of Bell Shakespeare in various education contexts.
This position is also responsible for overseeing and scheduling all Learning marketing collateral and campaigns, including writing copy and working closely with the Design and Publications Coordinator to deliver all materials.

2012 National Touring Mentorship – Staging
Bell Shakespeare is pleased to offer a professional mentorship in the area of National Touring - Staging. One successful applicant will be provided the opportunity to join our National Touring production of School for Wives, travelling and participating in the delivery of the production in up to 12 venues over a seven week period.
Applicants must have industry experience to be successful and demonstrate an interest in national touring with a focus on staging theatre productions. Candidates will demonstrate an interest and understanding of basic staging principles including experience in the installation of theatre sets, basic rigging, maintenance and upkeep.
