Spend an intensive session with Huw McKinnon, delving deep into the reasons that Shakespeare uses verse and prose to unlock character motivation, state of mind and create atmosphere in his plays. Learn practical techniques to activate your own teaching of verse and prose, using a range of plays.

Directing Shakespeare

What is the essential toolkit for directing Shakespeare? Learn tips, tricks and real rehearsal room strategies from James Evans, whose productions of Shakespeare have toured from regional theatres to Sydney Opera House.

With detailed text analysis, and unique tools to unlock meaning and exceptional performances, this is a fun and intensive workshop that will give you the confidence and know-how to direct one of Shakespeare’s great plays with your students.

Vocal Training & Presentation for Teachers

With Jess Chambers, Bell Shakespeare’s Voice & Text Coach
Sun 24 May, 10am – 1pm

Actors and teachers have a lot in common – both need their voices to be in top form to do their job well. Yet teachers are rarely taught how to look after their voices. Avoid that end of term strain by learning vocal techniques and wellbeing strategies from industry expert, Jess Chambers. Includes training in presentation techniques that will empower your own lesson delivery and communications with your colleagues.
