John Bell Scholarship
Play your part in giving life changing opportunities to regional students
Nurturing new talent has been central to John Bell’s vision since he founded Bell Shakespeare in 1990. To honour his extraordinary legacy and impact on the arts in Australia, we are proud to offer our regional student scholarships programme in his name.
The John Bell Scholarship programme will find talented young people from all across Australia and give them unprecedented access to Bell Shakespeare, kick-starting their arts career, and continue our vision to truly represent all Australians on stage.
Join us in giving aspiring young actors from remote and regional areas the opportunities to exceed their artistic expectations. Your donation will support our wider learning initiatives as well as the critical areas of the John Bell Scholarship including:
100 auditions over every state and territory
3 winners and their parents or guardians spend a week in Sydney
A WEEK OF MENTORING IN SYDNEY
Exclusive time with founding Artistic Director, John Bell
Exclusive time with Artistic Director, Peter Evans
Daily workshops including voice training, character development, rehearsal techniques and stage combat
Opportunity to perform for Bell Shakespeare staff and artists
Tickets to theatre shows and tours of major arts institutions
Access to scholarship peer community
Ongoing remote mentoring
With your support, we will provide an audition opportunity and personalised masterclass to over 100 talented young people from regional and remote areas across the country each year. Three scholarships will be awarded annually, giving the winners unprecedented access to our Company for a week of intensive mentoring and training to kick-start their arts career, followed by ongoing remote mentoring.
Support us in giving young actors from across the country access to transformational opportunities.
The John Bell Scholarship helps provide opportunities for all aspiring actors, no matter where they live or their background, ensuring future generations of performers are truly representative of the Australia we live in today.
