2010 marks the 15th anniversary of the partnership between Bell Shakespeare and The Yalumba Wine Company. In 2009 Yalumba, Australia's oldest family owned winery celebrates its 160th year. Robert Hill Smith is a 5th Generation Vigneron and Yalumba proprietor. In July 2009, he was named recipient of the 2009 Rabobank Leadership Award which recognises his contributions made in the growth of Australasia’s food, beverage and agribusiness at an international level.
In 1997 John Bell, Artistic Director, Bell Shakespeare was named by the National Trust of Australia as one of Australia’s Living Treasures. In 2003 the Australia Business Arts Foundation awarded John the Dame Elisabeth Murdoch Cultural Leadership Award and in 2009 he was awarded the JC Williamson Award for extraordinary contribution to Australia’s live entertainment industry.
Both organisations celebrate these great leaders for their contributions to their respective industries, and cherish the collaborative partnerships that have nourished and inspired their journeys.
