We congratulate all students who auditioned this year, totalling almost 150 students from regional and remote schools across Australia.
The Regional Performance Scholarship gives students living in regional areas across Australia the chance to learn and perform Shakespeare with some of Australia’s best known Shakespearean actors. They’ll participate in masterclasses, backstage tours, get tickets to live performances and take a front row seat at a week of Bell Shakespeare rehearsals.
The scholarship includes accommodation (along with a parent or guardian) and a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to perform their winning monologue for John Bell and a Bell Shakespeare cast.
We will annouce the shortlist for the 2012 Regional Performance Scholarship at the beginning of December! Keep checking this website for more details.
WHO’S IT FOR?
Students must be at least 16 years of age by 31 December 2012, and still be at high school full time in 2012.
Know a theatre-loving student who’d
like to apply?
All they have to do is:
+ Download and learn a 1-2 minute monologue for male actors or female actors or select their own monologue from any Shakespeare play
+ Book an audition slot by emailing learning@bellshakespeare.com.au
+ Perform it for one of our friendly Arts Educators (they’re actors, too).
+ Have fun experimenting with the monologue in different ways.
Not able to audition in person?
Not a problem. In 2012 we are able to accept auditions via video for those students we are not able to audition in person on our tour for reasons of geography or timing. Send us an email to learning@bellshakespeare.com.au or call 1300 305 730 to find out how.
