Desperate to perform but too far from the city?
One life-changing week in Sydney. A lifetime of possibilities. The Bell Shakespeare Regional Performance Scholarship gives students in remote areas the chance to learn and perform Shakespeare with some of the most experienced Shakespearean actors in Australia.
Masterclasses, backstage tours, tickets to live performances and a front row seat at a week of Bell Shakespeare rehearsals. On top of that, we’ll sort students out with accommodation (along with a parent or guardian), and give them the opportunity to perform their winning monologue for John Bell and a Bell Shakespeare cast.
Know a theatre-loving student who’d like to apply?
All they have to do is:
- Download and learn a 1-2 minute monologue for
female characters or male characters
- Book an audition slot by emailing learning@bellshakespeare.com.au
- Perform it for one of our friendly Arts Educators (they’re actors too)
- Have fun experimenting with the monologue in different ways
WHO’S ELIGIBLE?
Students must be at least 16 years of age by 31 December 2010, and still be at high school full-time in 2010.
